I have a family member in the hospital/hospice, and need to book a flight from SD to AZ.
would love to fly without a mask, but guessing that's not possible. hopefully I'm wrong/you guys have some suggestions.

i had to fly southwest late October...i made sure i had a window seat and for the entire 4 hour flight, i faked my mask being "on" - leaned against the window with my right hand up against my face as if i was leaning on it, but really my hand was holding that side of the mask away from my face so i could breathe freely the entire flight...that was good. On the return flight i was not so lucky seatwise and they were much more buttheaded about it, so i had the stupid thing on most of the time....resulted in a bloody nose for a couple days after
thanks for the details, and that's exactly what I'll do; find a window seat and keep to myself.
oh also, at the airports, i played dumb (walked in w/no mask and went for it as long as i could and when anyone finally called me on it, i acted surprised, ooopsie i forgot)
funny, i do that a lot too. figure they understand 'stupid' so might has well play along.
