My onset hit with strong chills and moderate body aches. No fever. No sore throat. No runny nose. No cough.
Those chills lasted three days and just disappeared, but then the headache hit. There's nothing I could do to make it subside. I got a sinus infection and lost smell/taste for a couple of days. Took 500mg of Azithromycin for three days, dexamethasone (oral), and drank plenty of fluids/ate well. All symptoms stopped before I ended my antibiotics and I felt totally normal again.
Never took a test so I don't know what I had, but I've never experienced anything quite like it. I've never had a sinus infection without experiencing a runny nose/sore throat. I've never lost taste smell from a sinus infection either. And I have never had serious chills and body aches without a fever.
Never received one of the cult shots but others in my circle that have came down with something similar to what I had – if that anecdote means anything to anyone.
Another anecdote: wife (no shot) and 2yo (completely vaccine free) never got sick.
I agree. Had it and it was what I'd consider a bad flu. Lasted about 2 weeks. Fever, chills, aches, sore throat, cough, dizziness, vomiting.
yep and a headache from hell!
So this is why I do things to avoid it. I don’t minimize it because I’ve had it and it sucks ass. I work with it and my heart breaks for those that end up with Covid pneumonia. They suffer so badly.
Could be delta. That’s still going around too.
If they never isolated SARS COV2 from a human, how can they identify any of these variants?
Is there a test that can actually indentify COVID or and of it’s supposed variants?
Yes of course there’s a test. The labs have them. Just like they can tell if you have influenza A or B. I see people say stuff like that but people can believe whatever they want to believe. But you asked a question.
The claim is that there are 3 "markers" tested for in the new PCR and omicron has mutated so much one of them doesn't react anymore, so 2 out of 3 positive results is now called a positive Omicron case. It's all just a steaming heap of horse shit though, obviously!
I think I have this "year's" flu drama, but refused to get tested. They'd probably tell me I have "flurona" at this point!
2020 flu pissed off she didn't get noticed-hell hath no fury like a flurona scorned... 😎
My husband went to work totally fine on Wednesday. He came home with runny nose and sneezing. We figured that was normal, he was out in the west Texas desert. Thursday, he got hit with fever, chills, headache, and fatigue. I had him take an at-home test because we are highly involved at our church and we were supposed to go to service that night. He tested positive, and had to go through all the red tape for work, which he didn’t want to do, but he gets paid time off because he has the positive test. Friday, he slept all day because of the fatigue, had more fever and chills. Today is Saturday, and he has been awake and upright all day. He has played some video games, painted some miniatures, changed diapers for our kids, and been pretty active. He has a slight cough, minor fatigue, slight muscle soreness, and his temp dropped to 95 and he got really tired, but hot tea brought his temp back up and he wasn’t tired anymore. He thought he heard a rattle in his chest while breathing, but his pulse ox is 98.
Now I’m watching one of our boys who looks like he has a fever, but doesn’t. He’s thrown up twice, complains of stomachache and headache. I haven’t tested him yet, and may not.
A lot of my patients are hospitalized with omicron so it’s definitely just like the other Covid mutations that hit people all differently.
