Yes, Bitcoin is essentially a ponzi scheme, but it has outgrown/outlasted the negative connotations that go along with a traditional ponzi scheme. Is it perfect money? No, but it is as close as we have ever had or will have in the next 100-1000 years. Bitcoin is not controlled by big banks...that statement is absurd. Big banks hate BTC, hence the push for Government backed CBDCs. Bitcoin is freedoms best last chance in the world.

BTW, price is WAY down right now(38k-ish)..great time to scoop some up!!
...have you ever considered that the "hatred" the big banks are directing to cyber currencies is a contrived illusion just to drive people into trusting it, when in fact, it is controlled by the "haters" themselves....
...it is the same concept as, "we will give the people the leaders we want them to have", except exchange "leaders" with "currencies"....
indeed I have absolutely considered it ...and then after weighing the evidence I absolutely dismissed it.
Now had it been some proprietary thing you can't verify, that could have been the case. But Bitcoin is 100% open source, you can review the code for yourself and verify that it works just as those who actually verified the code says it works. No need for blind trust.
Bitcoin is also not the first digital currency to compete with the big banks, it's the first you heard of because it survived. And it survived, because:
The ignorance is a shame, you overestimate the banks and underestimate the people. It's not a established fact that bankers will successfully kill and eliminate all competition, they will try and go to extreme lengths, but they will not always succeed. If you understand how Bitcoin works, it's pretty easy to see why they can't stop it by their usual methods.
