I was "diagnosed with covid" and my parents left the house (to do some last second shopping before being put under house arrest with me - they tested negative at that time) they got a random phone call from the government and they (government) read out the "riot act" and told them to go back home. I thought that was fucked up, but it didn't ACTUALLY click what just happened; until they admitted to spying on 33 million Canadians...
It's a disgusting overreach of "governing powers," it should be dealth with swiftly and severely and protocols put in place to ensure it never happens again.. Time will tell if that comes to fruition though..
For a Chinese origin educated policy maker, mass surveillance of free people should be an absolute no.
