If the number of deaths and injuries are as high as we THINK they are, the number of lawsuits and penalties would quickly overwhelm the available funds to pay out to the victims. We're talking billions, perhaps TRILLIONS, of dollars here. The providers might not have any choice but to go bankrupt and cease operations.
Which might be a good thing in the long run, as the vacuum would be filled eventually by more reputable, ethical providers. In the meantime, however, health care might be severely rationed....and once again, people will die.
