I was in a bank in NY today and, while standing in line, the double-masked assistant manager offered me a mask and I said "no thank you." He then said that due to state mandate, I can not be served in this bank and i'd need to go to another branch with a drive-thru. I said the mask mandate expired February 1 last I heard. He says, "No, it's been extended thru March 1st." He told me that I had to leave and I asked him to show me the mandate and I would happily leave.
Fast forward to half an hour later, I'm sitting maskless in a chair across from him at his desk while him and the branch manager scour the internet for the latest update on the mask mandate. They found nothing and VERY reluctantly accepted my deposit. I gave him half of the deposit I intended to make and said "It's been a pleasure doing business with you, I'll see ya tomorrow."
These people are enforcing mask mandates that they can't find any documentation for.
There are no masks in my hometown bank, neither customer nor employee. They have these stupid plastic shields hanging from the ceiling to just above the counter. I walk to the side and speak around it.😁 I hate those things.
I always do the same, intentionally.
