The post is spot on. When I was in private high school, my religion teacher's opening words to us were: "Jesus came here to kick ass and take names. He wasn't the warm and fuzzy Jesus you have heard about."

That was definitely an eye-opener for me.

Later in the year, the teacher brought the point up again. Philosophically, he looked out at us and said "If Jesus were the warm pacifist you think he was, why would they kill him? He was a radical - intent on destroying the elite."
