He is known to work for the Canadian Government.
Claimed responsibility for previous hacks of right/freedom leaning networks. However, has not bee arrested for anything to date. So either he is protected or a crazy lunatic who claims responsibility for things he did not do.
It is also possible that the Canadian government assisted him with doing this hack but at arms length. That way, if investigators are able to figure out who did it and the trail leads back only to him, they can look unconnected to the hack even if they instigated and assisted with it.
Another interesting thing to consider. The Left is saying, if you don't like our platforms, go make your own. And when competing platforms are created, they always seem to get hacked or attacked (such as slander by the media). And they never seem to find out who did it. I'm not sure if they even investigate. On the other hand, their platforms seem to get government protection. Here is an example:

Foreign government employee attacking US businesses? Sounds like cyber terrorism to me. When is his extradition?
Let's hope that happens but I would not hold your breath. Even if he was in the US, the FBI would sooner protect him than arrest him.
Although, like I said in the post, he may just be an attention seeking lunatic as well. I have a hard time believing someone that mentally deranged could be a competent anything.

I'd be careful about spreading this kind of information around for 2 main reasons:
We don't know if he actually did it. He claims it was him but he also comes off as a lunatic who should not be trusted. Might just be seeking attention.
If someone decides to show up to his house and do something stupid, even if they got the information another way, they could blame us. Heck, the guy could start falsely claiming people have started harassing him, blame us, and run to the media. It's best to avoid giving them this kind of excuse.
This idiot didn't "hack" anything. From what I have been able to discover, Givesendgo left a file storage resource exposed to the internet requiring no authorization. It takes almost no skill to find and exploit this vulnerability. In fact, I barely call it exploitation, nothing had to be cracked here, it was effectively a web accessible site he found by inspecting some of their web code.
As much as we love Givesendgo, they were negligent in this case. Sorry, but a site handling financials and also being on the radar socially, they should have been doing thorough security audits and properly securing these issues. They have been shown to be sloppy and obviously have a low-skill engineering team. This so-called "hack" is more of an embarrassment for Givesendgo than an accomplishment for this no-talent script kiddie.
