Almost one entire launch worth (40 of 49) of Starlink satellites was lost on Feb 3 when a solar storm coincided with their deployment. No degredation of service.....no previously deployed starlink satellites (currently 1700+) were lost. The reentry of at least some was filmed.
There's no point in lying about them reentering if they did not.....anyone who'd potentially be the target of a Starlink ramming can track them, anyway. The ones currently IN orbit have some potential offensive capability (via ramming), just like any other satellite.
But they're interesting because there are so many of them, they're relatively cheap, they're low orbit (you have to go through them), and they're so dispersed.

I think re-entry fireballs were seen from the Starlink satellites, and there was a significant solar storm that day.
