My great grandfather was a 32nd° Mason. I have the sword that was his with his name on it. I inherited it. He worked on the Manhattan project. I have newspaper articles, and a laminate plaque, with some of the sand glass from the original test site. We found it in my fathers office when he died. My brother took it home with him as a token and reminder of my father in our family. He lives in another country so he didn’t want a bunch of larger items. Here’s the kicker… My brother lives in Japan.! Crazy huh!
I keep that sort wrapped up and taped away in a box. I’m not even sure what to do with it. I can’t even imagine what it was used for. Apparently my great grandfather was a brilliant man, if I didn’t have a degree in science. But he worked on the Manhattan project anyway. I’m sure he had to do something or be high up for that to happen. That entire operation was on the hush-hush for years
It’s so interesting to hear stories from different people on this forum. My father worked for NASA and for Rocketdyne. He put the man on the moon, and help to invent the material needed for the shuttlecraft to be able to return to our atmosphere without burning up. He got an award for it that was it. And a handshake. I have all kinds of stickers and pictures of the shuttle crafts. My brother and I got to walk through one of the fuselage - before it went up. Families of people that work there got to do that. I’m very proud of my father he was an intelligent man. A mathematician extraordinaire.

What types of things did your papa invent? I’d be interested to hear
