One very dumb thing on there. Do NOT save seeds from the produce from your dinner. Unless they're actual non-hybrid heirloom varieties, and it's very unlikely they are, the seeds will produce useless plants. Just go get some heirloom (make sure they're non-hybrid) seeds and stash them in a sealed container or vacuum sealed bag.

This is especially true of fruits like apples but it applies to anything. However, seeds from non-hybrids can be saved and will produce plants true to the parent plant. BTW, some seeds sold as heirloom are just older varieties that are hybrids so make sure you're not getting one of those.
