By watching the DS and their obviously desperate moves, everything they try backfires and awakens more and more people. Look at it like a game of chess, we are not winning, we won, the light won, checkmate in less than 17 moves and there is ZERO moves that the dark can make to counter it, AND THEY NOW KNOW THIS. Any moves they do make has a potential of quickening their defeat. As they get more and more desperate they cheat elections, release viruses on the world, create fake wars, deem every person that questions them a terrorist, flip flop on their positions to try to gain sympathy.

They no longer have the "silent consent" of the majority of the populous and their word magic has failed, just look at CNN their main mouth piece, and how that piece of garbage program has failed and fallen apart. They do not want to admit they lost and will fight with every last move on the board, and attempt to bring down as many people as they can when they fall.
