I look at these people as a warning. If I don't constantly seek to keep myself informed, I could find myself living in an echo chamber of my own creation just like these people. My mind could be every bit as closed, and I could be at war with my own family because I simply refuse to acknowledge the world around me. We don't want to become that guy.

The whole Ukraine thing is a good example of this. Lots of misinformation, but we end up not believing things which can be reliably proven and seen on TV, like Putin's heavy losses, and the effectiveness of the Javelins and Stingers. Those are real, but many on the right have disregarded all of that as misinformation. Well, Putin had to call in a massive 40 km long column of reserves from Belarus, didn't he? And he's calling on Syrian mercs to come fight as well. He was losing men and needs more power. Those are facts.

This guy refuses to acknowledge the biolabs. He writes it all off as right-wing propaganda. This is the kind of guy who'd call his own father a commie Putin Nazi because he simply can't acknowledge the facts: Victoria Nuland admitted it under oath, the documents are crystal clear. The DOD contracts with Black & Veatch to build them are all public record. I've read them. The contracts at the embassy with the Ukrainians are all there. Google translate can translate the images with OCR. They're legit. So are 336+ of them all over Eastern Europe and Africa. The documentation is public. But this guy can't believe it because he's possessed by his ideology.

We could easily end up the same way. Skepticism combined with an open mind is how we beat that.
