What is our allotted role? We seem to be standing before a major Goliath and we may feel powerless and ill equipped. What can I do? I believe, and ask you to consider, a no greater way to serve your country or nation or its people than to be, by our lives, our witness, especially our prayers, representatives of God.

-To represent God to others, and represent others to God.- To unfold the mind of God to the people, the secrets of God, the judgement God, the requirements of God. To be somebody who comes in between God on the one hand and those who need God's wrath and judgement on the other hand. To stand between God and man and "hold the line" or hold back the wrath and judgement of God. Stand in the gap and pray.

Examples: Abraham, Moses, Daniel, Elisha and Jesus Christ Himself when on the cross Said Father forgive them for they know not what they do. That is intercession!

Ezekiel 22:23-31

Here is a nation with the wrath and Judgement of God hanging over it. God sought among them, who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Him for the land. That He would not destroy it, but He found none. Therefore God poured out His indignation. What a tragedy.....He found none.

It takes the rain of God's Holy Spirit released by intercessory prayer to cleanse a land or a nation. To withhold God's indignation. God confronted with global breakdown looks for men and women among them, just one, an intercessor "God you have every right to strike these people with your judgement, they deserve your judgement, but I am standing in between you and them and if you are going to strike them you are going to have to strike me first." There is tremendous boldness in intercessory prayer. to be a lightening rod between God and His Judgement.

One man/woman could save a nation. We have a desperate need today in this nation for intercessory prayer. Could there be any greater privilege or higher calling?

Another passage:

Isaiah 59:12-16

Total Corruption and decline of a nation..... He, God, looks for an intercessor. "Justice was turned away backward", ( sound familiar?) "truth had fallen in the street". The Lord saw it and was displeased there was no justice and saw there was no one to intervene on behalf of truth and right. No intercessor.

Where there is no intercessor there is no hope.

IIKings 6:10-19

Syria was at war with Elisha's people Israel. Elisha always knew Syria's strategy, He warned the King of Israel and they were saved repeatedly. The King of Syria sent to seize Elisha.....Can you imagine having such an impact on society, on history, on your nation, on the world that they send an army with horses and chariots just for one purpose to capture you?! If not, why not?

The king sent the army at night and by morning Elisha discovered the city was surrounded, Elisha's servant said to him, "Alas my master! What shall we do?!" Elisha said "Fear not, for those with us are more than those with them. Then Elisha Prayed, "Lord I pray you open his eyes to see". and the Lord opened his eyes and he saw and behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Modern Day Example: Our praying President Donald J Trump has stood in the gap for this nation for this world. There is an invisible Army of God, The Lord of Hosts, the Lord of Armies. President Trump, like Elisha, has a relationship with God such that the Armies of heaven surround him.

"Fear not, for those with us are more than those with them."

Let us pray....
