In the US at least I've generally heard you need to finish people off so you don't get sued for damages if they live, believe it or not. Same if you hit someone on a bicycle....

Edit: Not that if I hit someone on a bicycle I'd go back and run over them, no way I could do that. But I've heard nightmare stories about how ridiculous things got for people in this situation (hit someone that lived).
Take out both his knees and shoulders. Save one for the head, just in case he thinks he's in a movie.

Except in Florida. My brother got hit on a bike in Florida and he got squat. Well technically he got to sit in a wheelchair for 4 months.
