BUY EXTRA; you never know what lies up that road ahead until we get there. As my Daddy always said, put something back for a rainy day. He meant money of course, but food works too.
Yes, Food is the most valuable right now. I'm still trying to red-pill a couple of my Aunts who are pro-Biden so that they see what is going on and stock up before it is too late.
Indeed, I don't have much of a nest egg anymore as I retired early, built a house abroad, and lived on savings. Back to work because I'm back in the states and its expensive here. However I haven't been broke since I was 14, and I keep my safety net of 1 year's of my cost of living, and am spending disposable income to start over with household stuff and stocking up on food.
Even if no Zombie Apocalypse food shortages happen, I'm hedging against inflation.
Good job. You're very smart doing it that way. Not everyone has a good head on their shoulders when it comes to money. You're one of the exceptions. God bless.
Not educated in finance, but have a natural affinity due to childhood with parents not good at money. Mom lost 2 houses and we lived in many many rentals when not dumped out at Grams.
Hmm.....Sounds like my ex-husband. He tried his best to get me in debt while I was working to raise our two kids. After both kids reached 18 and 19, I divorced him. He then remarried a woman who tried to steal him from me when both kids were 3 and 4. Her husband had died in which she did NOT even attend his funeral; yes they were still married. Then she married my exe 2 weeks later. He made her sell her house and he blew all that money. Then her mother died leaving her a house, and he had her sell and blew that money. Then her step-mom died and left her the house she and her father owned, and he made her sell and blew that money. Now they live in an old run down house they are renting, with no running water and a generator they use for electric. So she got what she prayed for and he got what he wanted. ME.....I'm happy.
Been doing it since 08 when the O stole my pension When everyone went bonkers over toilet paper I had plenty and still do. Learned how to can meats and soups. Stored water. Even over the years when they warned us about blizzards, everyone ran out for milk, bread and eggs but I didnt even need to leave my house. I cannot tell you how happy and stress-free I've been.

Food is WAY more valuable than money at this time.

Don't forget water and water filtration. And ammunition.
Yes. Already have it and told both Aunt's if they had any common sense whatsoever, that they would have these too.

Not to mention saving money by stocking up while prices are low.
