OP, the thing is, I have NO CLUE how it is that prayer works; but I KNOW it works because of my personal experiences. And I'll be praying with you and with everyone else that joins in. The Sovereign Lord already KNOWS what's up and He's LISTENING. He's ALWAYS listening.

And people ask me, "If God already knows what's up, why is prayer necessary?" And, silly me, I try to explain that prayer is a little like working with God on the problem. It's a little like being in harness with God, pulling on the same plow He's pulling. YES, of course, He's gonna do all the heavy work but in prayer, WE'RE WORKING WITH HIM. Huh. And that's when you learn more about someone: when you're working closely with them. Go figure. You and us and The Lord Almighty God, focused on the same problem and working on it, together.

Prayer doesn't change Him. Prayer changes US so we can change our situation, with His leadership. And God's got it set up so that YOU AND ME are blessed from prayer, even when (and especially when) we're praying for someone else. Maybe He just threw that in there for a little extra motivation. KEK!

So, I'm really glad to see your call to prayer. It seems like I'm seeing more and more calls to prayer all over this forum - and I think that's a GOOD thing. All the prayer is a sign to me that really, nothing can stop what's coming (Isaiah 56:7). AND, along with everything else happening here, all the prayer really is a part of "the Great Awakening".
