Isn't there a point where sending people, assets, and weapons to a country in a military conflict where the combatants can decide that you are now part of the combat?
That was a real question though, I'm only familiar with laws of war in a general sense.
In my meaningless opinion, those lines have already been crossed by many NATO countries, which would mean a Russian attack could be justified. That Putin has not even really called out that support (AFAIK), I view as evidence of him being on the white hat side.
