There are a lot of military references in those verses, yet St. Paul wasn't that kind of leader. We shouldn't be appeased by being told to just talk tough. We should fight, not preach.
Without spiritual strength - physical strength is in vain. The Old Testament speaks to that repetitively! Many times they went to battle in their own strength- and lost.
Here is a novel idea… as we strengthen ourselves spiritually, we can also strengthen ourselves physically! We CAN DO BOTH!
Just because a specific topic is mentioned in the Bible - doesn’t mean is excludes other ways of being prepared for life.
