What is an evolutionists explanation of the following question: If humans evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?"
I've been a creationist my entire life, so I literally don't know the answer to this.
Oh ok, thanks I didn't know that they think that. What is the missing link referring to then? Sorry about all the questions, they never taught evolution in school except for a few random facts.
I mean I get that selective breeding occurs. I get how one could suppose that this is part of an evolutionary type theory. But we’ve never seen a dog breeding into a totally new animal, just different types of dogs. It’s not possible.
Fascinating. Thank you.
No but they do argue some species, for example certain sharks etc. have been “unchanged for millions of years.”
When it was explained to me in university I was always stumped by the explanation... even the biology professor said these words, and I quote, "cells can only come from other cells. "
They say we come from a common ancestor, but if evolution were true every living thing would be inter-species. There would be no distinct species of animal, just variations on a theme.
That's my point exactly. There isn't a clear example of "this turned into this". Every living thing seems to stand on its own without a pathway of how it got from one thing to another. Idk if I'm explaining it correctly so I'll elucidate my point:
If man came from monkey, then where is the creature that stands between monkey and man?
They think that, for some reason, only some monkeys evolved while others did not.
I can’t understand what causes evolution to go on pause for millions of years in some species, but yet on other threads of life (allegedly) fish turn into people…
Like wouldn’t it continue no matter what, and at least keep refining the fish or monkey or whatever? Why are there separate species at all, why not just an anamorphs type world with creatures at every stage of evolution?
That's precisely what I'm trying to say. And why haven't humans evolved into X-men or something? It can't be that we've evolved to 100% capacity. This is it. We're done. The best we can be. Pretty sad.
