What's the point of sterilizing them? They come in a hard shell to begin with. Like, whoever heard of anyone getting botulism or salmonella or whatever from a nut?
It's not like people don't gather nuts from their own trees. What gives?
One would think that pasteurizing foods would obviously destroy some of the nutrients in whatever it is you're pasteurizing.
The stupid thing about milk is, if it was that bad to drink unpasteurized milk, then calves would be dying everywhere.
I wonder if all nuts are pasteurized?
