Well of COURSE they want some of us to live. How can one be a king of the ash heap and smouldering ruins if there are no slaves to do their bidding and be their serfs? I imagine [THEY] would want obedient and fearful serfs to plow their fields, harvest their food, maintain their castles.... you know, peasant stock to make [THEM] feel more important and to wield their power over. A king or queen by themselves is no fun. As Mel Brooks said, "It's GOOD to be king!"
