I heard at the time Tom Girardi, the disgraced famous lawyer, owned that building. That was from research on 8kun/chan, I believe.

He won the Erin Brokovich case against PG&E. Big win for the "little guy". At some point he began to pilfer $ he won for / from "little guys" and got in deep.

Wonder how compromised he was to possibly take part in something like this.

He didn't actually win it, it was Ed Masry. Ed called Tom in to help. Tom ripped off those victims, too.

Tom's extremely well connected and has many of the California judges, politicians, and the state Bar in his pocked:
