Assuming the 4th turnings occur in the cyclical pattern demonstrated by history, we were due for one no matter how it was brought on, and the wrong turning is a problem in and of itself, 4th turning or not.

I don't know. Could be.
The point of a 4th turning is that society goes through a major upheaval that results in a new order of things, as with the American Revolution followed by the French Revolution, and then WW1 and the Great Depression followed by WWII. I've said since the beginning of the virus mess that when we came out on the other side of everything related to it our world would be vastly different.

You're probably correct. Likely only those of us who live close to nature will be able to take it in stride.

In the 70's a futurist named Alvin Toffler published his initial future analysis titled "Future Shock". In that book, he contrasted the relatively slow pace of societal change in pre-industrial history to the modern change rate and the ability of people to adapt to change. Bottom line, humans cannot keep up with the rate of change - and of course it has only sped up in the ensuing 50 years. If one overlays the toffler works with the 4th turning, one would anticipate a period of explosive change and upheaval, probably soon

One other feature of the 4th Turning is war is fought with a sense there is an existential threat to life itself.
That certainly fits what's going on now.
