I ask because y’all are great frens (when you’re not bothering me about my love for Jones. KEK)
Mine is Jimmy Eat World, Hear You Me. Also Blue October Hate Me
I used to sit and play songs for my grandma on guitar. Usually once a week. I would go sit with her and just play music. She loved it. We did it weekly for years. At least 5 years. She was on hospice for 3 days before she died. How lucky was I? I had three days to sit with grandma and just play music for her and the family who had gathered to say their goodbyes. A real chance to say goodbye.
Both of these songs were pretty regular in my playlists. She passed in 2015 and I’ve probably listened to each less than ten times since.
Music saved me from a life of opioids. It gave me an outlet. A hobby. My grandma was my biggest cheerleader in sobriety. She’s been on my mind a lot recently so here I sit, listening to my “grandma songs”
I look forward to your responses. I love these posts because it reminds us of what is truly important. You’re a great group of frens.
Tears In Heaven. My brother died too young and he aspired to play guitar like Clapton. Always hits too close to home.
Sorry for your loss.
I learned to play it for my mom, in honor of my sister's still born daughter, Hannah, 1997.
Still tugs at the heart strings when I play it today!!
