They’re leaving California, about 70,000 of them, and they’ll never ever deliver a single thing again in the state of CA. The warning is just that, supply will be non existent and shortages will definitely sky rocket. Why do they want to ruin their own state so badly???? 👀👀

they're leaving because of the new law which requires truck drivers to be employees of the company they work for. which every single truck owner can do all they have to do is turn their business into a business and hire themselves as employees. instead they fail to read the law and are acting out. there's so many guys out there that just buy a truck and go hurrr hurr i have a business without actually getting a business license or filing for an LLC
The law is to stop illegal 1099 and predatory truck leasing from companies which are not good for the driver. too many drivers also fall into that like any other pyramid scheme like scentsy, cutco knives, or essential oils for instance. As an example a typical lease op from 2019 and years prior averaged $150,000 after they paid all their expenses for operating the truck they made about $30,000 USD. Currently im talking to guys that are making $200,000 to 250k then after expenses they're making around 50 - $60,000. health insurance and any other benefit is not factored into those numbers.
Meanwhile company drivers are grossing $80 to $150,000 before deductions.
Im a driver of 20 years, this law is actually beneficial. there's another one in the system to make our pay more transparent instead of the mental gymnastics all the companies currently use to confuse drivers so they dont get their full pay. There's drivers at my current company that have been there longer than me and have no clue what else they can get paid for or how to maximize their pay. I easily make 3-500 extra a week due to all the items you can get paid for.
Yeah and the truck dealerships etc all fall into these same BS schemes. It's time for a change
