Hey frens. I hope I'm not being selfish or coming out of the blue with this, but I'm requesting prayers for my health. I suspect I am dealing with a bacterial or parasitic infection that might be more than I can manage naturally, and I might need to go to Urgent Care for this. The past few times I've seen doctors, they haven't been able to do jack squat for me, so I have both the fear that I'll get brushed off when this could be something serious, and the fact that I am uninsured and a doctor's visit is something I have been trying to avoid for as much financial reasons as practical reasons.
Naturally, I'm a bit of an anxious mess right now. I've been watching my body carefully and hoping this this infection works its way out if I properly rest and nourish myself, but if I have to go in, I'm hoping that I'll get a doctor who actually listens and doesn't charge me out the ear for what I hope is just a need for some proper antibiotics.
I hope that all makes sense. Like I said, I'm starting to get pretty nervous about this and I don't think that helps the situation at all. I've been praying for a breakthrough in my health so I can get past this, but I feel so far away from the Lord right now that I feel like maybe I need some help in this department. Any possible advice for naturally handling an infection like this would be awesome too. I'm worried that if it is bacterial, because of it's location on my right side, it might be appendicitis, and I just don't need that time bomb right now. :( If it's a parasite, I'm not sure what else to do besides antibiotics. I'm at my wit's end.
Anyways, thanks in advance. You guys are the best, not just because I can make a prayer request like this but because you guys are just an amazing, talented group of frens and you are a daily life saver in this crazy world.
I had chronic appendicitis for years and so many wrong guesses from doctors about it, because it would go away and come back with no obvious correlation to anything else. Finally when I fell out of bed from pain and couldn't stand up someone decided to take a peek. I feel for you, I wouldn't let this go though you may also be the victim of skepticism. Worms aren't particularly painful unless they get so numerous as to cause a blockage. Tapeworms are not affected by Ivermectin but fendbendazole is used for tapeworm in cats and a related -azole for humans. Giardia is in all the wild waterways and could cause crampy diarrhea periodically with no apparent problems between. Some drugs for that: https://www.drugs.com/condition/giardiasis.html You can get metronidazole for birds otc. However, if you think you have parasites, you need a fresh, wet, stool sample and someone who knows how to look through a microscope. It is not a big deal to rule out most parasites and if you can then you can go after other causes.
I've given birth four times and Giardia was the worst pain I've ever had in my life. Nothing like breaks inbetween bouts - it was constant, solid, excruciating pain. Only time in my life I seriously talked to God about taking me home!
I'm glad you prevailed! :D
That's what makes me so anxious about having to see a doctor, and why I've asked for the prayers that hopefully I'll get a good egg when I do see one. I've had the same experiences before with doctors (have a problem, just get a bunch of guesswork, expensive bills to follow even with health insurance, nothing really fixed or treated). I've done better at managing my illnesses naturally on my own but this one recently has me stumped.
Be systematic, is my advice. Parasites should be pretty easy to rule out. You haven't really said why you think that. Make notes of your symptoms and see if there is a relationship with food, activity, anything. Where the pain starts; how it progresses; what affects it, like eating, lying in a certain position, pushing on it, stretching, heat, cold, all those things are helpful clues. Most problems have typical signs and symptoms but as many also have the same symptoms as something else, the doctor is going to proceed in a statistical way with what seems like the most likely cause.
I'm pretty certain that its a bacterial infection because I had a reccurring infection years ago that landed me in the doctors office a few times*. The symptoms I've got now resemble how I felt with that infection, just in a different location. I'm not ruling out parasites since I spend a lot of time gardening and working with animals.
*After being brushed off by a few doctors about it, I was finally lucky enough to get a foreign doctor who recognized what I was dealing with and gave me holistic advice on how to prevent the infection from happening again. I'm usually pretty on top of it, but sometimes life happens and my health gets away from me.
You could have diverticulosis. It happens with age and not much you can do about it except avoid things like nuts that could get lodged in the pockets and cause local irritation and infection, and avoid becoming constipated or trying to hold back gas.
