I worked in the auto industry for 30 years, in a variety of plants in Mexico and the US. Worked around all of the Big 3 as well as the Europe / Asia transplants. My father retired from the same, as a manufacturing manager.

This can be huge if the incoming party does the right shit. Agree, workers have needed representation in our past, and to some degree do now as well. But the UAW worked with the big 3 to ruin the American auto industry. We offshored everything to remain competitive in the supply chains, but kept enough around to keep the UAW execs rich as shit as well as the Auto execs. They knew exactly what they were doing. Read up on the Delphi lawsuit from the 2008-09 Obama car czar and GM / UAW. Massive scam.
