Kansas Primaries are only open for registered Dem/GOP voters. Independents cannot vote for Governor or Senator but can vote on the Amendment.
I am not saying that this is a clean vote, just that Independents can account for at least some of the discrepancy.

It’s hard to believe because the third party numbers weren’t that high in November of 2018 or 2020.
