The wife has had the coof for over a week and refused to take the paste in fear of poisoning. I started having mild symptoms on Thursday (headache, sinus drainage, cough, and some achiness) and tested positive with an at home test. Started the paste Thursday night, woke up Friday feeling better, Saturday even better, then today I’m completely symptom free. Paste completely knocked out the coof in 3 days!
A personal thank you to everyone on this board because otherwise I would have never even ordered the paste to begin with.
The wife now wishes she would have taken the paste and even made me order more to have on hand.
Question: has anyone used the paste on their little colts or filly’s?
Gave it to my filly in the evening when she was sick. Next morning, huge improvement and then back to 100% the day after. Going to start giving it to the dog as well. It's just as effective as her heartworm pill and a fraction of the cost.
Extra info for those considering using it on dogs. As I understand it, the only problem is if the dog is infested badly with heartworms, the ivm will kill them, leaving the "tunnels" where the worms were, open. You can understand why this would be a problem in heart tissue. If they have no worms you should have no problems keeping them worm free.
Be super careful with the dose for dogs. You know how paranoid people are about heartworm treatment, that it is dangerous. And I believe yes it is ivermectin so what is so concerning.. must just be high dosage?
I have to look up the IVM content of the heartworm pills because it was on the paper inside the box that I threw away.
Take a look at your heartworm pill- the active ingredient may just BE IVM.
It is IVM. Costs about $60/year for the heartworm pills. Figure I'll give her the same monthly dose of the paste. One notch per month (she's about 50lbs) so one tube is 2 years worth for her for $6/tube. Plus it doesn't have the other nonsense in it.
I took a closer look at the feline heartworm I just got. IVM
