Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Isaiah 54:17 no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
I’m going to ask a legit question bible believer to bible believer. How can we know if we are the ones with itching ears who refuse to listen to sound doctrine? I believe God wins. I know we will win and I never listen to the naysayers who bash Trump or Q. I listen to our side criticize them so I am aware of what they say. This prompted me to ask myself, an I heaping up teachers who say what I want to hear?
His is not an accusation. I just want to hear from some who may have the same questions.
This is how; I used to have the same question,
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him. Malachi 3:18
“So now, let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and set him over the land of Egypt. Genesis 41:33
They are a nation without sense, there is no discernment in them. Deuteronomy 32:28
Your discernment is blessed, and you are blessed. Today you kept me from participating in bloodshed and avenging myself by my own hand. 1 Samuel 25:33
He silences the lips of trusted advisers and takes away the discernment of elders. Job 12:20
So let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good. Job 34:4
But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Psalm 19:12
Teach me good judgment and discernment, for I rely on Your commands. Psalm 119:66
Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws. Psalm 119:125
O Lord, listen to my cry; give me the discerning mind you promised. Psalm 119:169
A wise man will listen and increase his learning, and a discerning man will obtain guidance— Proverbs 1:5 Also; Matthew 7:15-20 You Will Know Them by Their Fruits 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
1 John 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 John 4:3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
Great scripture selection. People can fool you into thinking they are good. They are in sheep’s clothing. How can you vet them? The only fruit I am able to see looks pretty good. I think I just wing it until the person being vetted says something against Jesus.
Whenever something feels off, pray on it before making any decisions or taking their word for it, also read your Bible and wait on God for answers. God convicts hearts and speaks to us in many ways.
Be Silent Be Still
Be silent, be still and listen for his voice
He speaks in many ways When we’re not making noise
Perhaps through a dream Or a gesture or letter from a friend
Maybe in our circumstance But we just can’t pretend Not to hear, listen dear
You might feel it in a tug That pulls upon your heart
In the dead of night When you’re alone in the dark
When sleep won’t come And your mind won’t stop
When he draws you to his word At the most random time
When you feel like you’ve been given The biggest task on the block
Or you might receive a warning Of a place you shouldn’t go Or something not to do
He’s there in the still and quiet When you’re not making noise
Will you sit still and listen Because you have the choice
Are you wholly in his word Spending time upon your knees
Cause that’s when you’ll realize That he’s in the in between
He has a higher calling And he calls upon his own
When things aren’t making sense And you’re on the longest trek
He’s got the road mapped out And the way planned ahead
So be silent and be still And listen for his voice
One simple way is to ask who they say Jesus is. 1 John 4:2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
1 John 2:22, 23 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
May I ask how long you have been a believer in Christ and awake to what is going on?
First that poem was beautiful and I will be saving it. I have been in Christ 39 years. I was born again at the end of reading The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey. I’ve since grown past that book’s teachings but I credit Hal with my salvation message sticking That time for life.
The reason for my wondering is Melissa Red Pill. I just love her and the message of hope and Julie Green too. When I look over the growth and changes in my beliefs as I matured in Christ from Pretrib to post trib, heavy on law and heavy on Grace, the two seed lines, all these teachings presented over the 40 years.
Now I’m a Kingdom Christian expecting the 1000 years of peace. Feels like a natural progression feels good in my soul but then the doubt. Am I deceived? Should I expect the kingdom of God or antichrist? Now don’t think I am not advanced and haven’t studied prophecy I have but am I correct in my interpretation!?
What if the sabbath keepers are right? What about the Hebrew roots? So much going on in The church world.
I am no expert always learning as we should all be. Revelation 3:10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. this give me hope to believe that pre tribulation is how it will go, but whether I am right or wrong or whether you are or anyone for that matter, what does matter that remember these things; James 2:14-26 Faith Without Works Is Dead What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
Matthew 7:16 “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”
Revelation 3:15-17 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.
Revelation 2:10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.
Mark 9:35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
I would only add the armor of God to this list of encouraging Words.
Also thank you for the meaningful discussion.
