I have a friend who I talk to about geopolitics and he is on the opposite side of the political spectrum but actually pretty cool and open to debate.
He can go so far with me on certain matters but not when it comes to DJT his emotions get the better of him and he draws upon a lot of propaganda talking points, most of which I'm easily able to refute.
Recently he hit me with "Trump's mentor was a child abuser" and it was bit of a curve ball as I'll be honest, I didn't have any knowledge on Ray Cohn or his relationship to Trump.
My friend shared the following article with me: https://web.archive.org/web/20200705071114/https://villagemagazine.ie/trumps-mentor-and-the-abuse-of-a-teenage-boy-from-kincora-by-joseph-de-burca/
I don't really have anything to go back to him with as it's near impossible to find anything related to this subject which isn't one sided and I get to a point in searching where it feels like confirmation bias.
I figured I could potentially get a more balanced view of this relationship from the pedes here.
I feel like if I can get him past this then I can open his eyes to so much more. I'm not giving up on him, I'm hoping time will do the job for me and it is to a certain extent but this mental roadblock needs to be lifted.
What y'all got?
It looks to me like a situation where you keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Trump has spent time over the years with lots of bad people. How else would you get to know exactly who it is you’re up against? He’s made connections and observations everywhere....Think of him as a double Agent 😎
This is the conclusion I am coming to. I have gained much broader perspective and understanding of the environment and people involved in this subject. Thanks for taking the time to respond. 🙂
