Someone on another site commented that when electric cars terminally sit on the lot, the car companies will quietly shift to offering gas engines as an option. Of course, that will only work if gas continues to be available.
I predict they will outlaw big motors first. Then all gas non hybrids, and finally you will be taxed to hell if you drive a ICE vehicle instead of electric. Japan has high taxes for registration on older cars. This forces people to buy new to save a couple bucks
