Jaribu Hill is Director of the Mississippi Workers’ Center for Human Rights . She joins us to discuss a Mississippi political scandal involving a former governor who gave millions of dollars in funds from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program to political cronies and even to a multi-millionaire former football star. In addition, the city of Jackson has been without clean water for more than a week. She joins us from Greenville to talk about Mississippi politics and how these two scandals came about.

***Not acceptable using God's name in vain!! I don't appreciate opening this page up to such language about my King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He deserves better than this.
I was taken back as well . GD has always bothered me , as bad as it sounds in Miss , we should be asking God to bless the state not damn it ,, not trying to be huffy but words are powerful !
Have you ever been to Mississippi? Until liberalism made Chicago the slum of America, Miss, was the Stupidest place in the US. and stupid can not be magically Fixed. WHY is Miss. so stupid?
Why are you saying they are stupid? You mean their school system is at the bottom or just people in general?
Is there a systemic poisoning of the people with heavy metals in their water?
Heavy metals? Is this the same Lie as the Lying MSM BS from Detroit about Lead Pipes supplying Water?
Just trying to find out why they have low IQ?
I was in Jackson Mississippi in July of 2005. The place was SCARY AF... super rundown and inhabited with low IQ hate-filled racist black folks. 😒 Something is definitely poisoning those peeps.
I love the blues though so I made my way to Memphis to see Sun Records and Graceland 😎 My trip south was redeemed ❤️ 🎶 ❤️
If it's systemic, I will be checking water first and then suspect inbreeding. Hate to say it but those two first.
The water quality leaves much to be desired. That's no lie.
Their crawfish and corn were the most excellent. I don't remember the water.
I've lived here for 5 years now. I've had skin issues pop up that I didn't notice before. I assume it's the water quality. Thank God for herbal medicine. The food is incredible yes I agree.
I use water filter from Walmart. It's cheap but it works.
Moved to the south just recently from NW. Skin problems from chiggers (can't see them so didn't know they were there).
....must be the cornbread....
...doggy winks....
20 years ago, I sat in a Miss. casino for 30 Min. waiting on a drink, while no less than 12 Paid Service BLACK WOMEN stood and talked about their ? instead of their JOB. That is Nothing but Stupid.
Lazy? Why aren't they fired? Corrupt?
Fired? Who would replace them?
You mean no one wants to work there?
...is it genetics?
...or is it environment?
What part of the environment would make them stupid and lazy?
The brainwashing
...the environment pertaining to human development includes such diverse factors such as water quality to the individuals parental involvement (or lack of)...
LOL
...wags tail knowingly....
In 1860, before the War of Northern Aggression, Mississippi was the wealthiest state in the Union.
...truth...
The corruption here is intense. They don't call it the dirty south for nothing.
You think corruption is bad there? Want to talk about Portland or SF?
It's bad everywhere I agree. It's systemic.
..."Mississippi Burning".....
