Rescused a Golden Doodle, found out she has heartworms. Vet required 6 months of preventative treatments before the actual HW treatment. But now says because it's not winter, he won't do it.
I found a product called HWF Clean Heart. Reviews say it's like a detox for the cardiovascular system. Anybody use this all natural protocol before? Any luck removing HW from your furbabe?
I think heartworm treatment is a case of the cure making the recipient feel pretty awful and this may be the toxic die-off of the parasite. So what I would research is, what could be a more measured die off, that maybe takes a bit longer but that is not as overwhelming. The choice of parasite killer is a sigbificant one, and if ivermectin would kill heartworms, I'd be less scared of it and maybe a lower dose for longer? These are what I would want to know first off. We don't have heartworms where I live, and none of my dogs have ever had them. If we had them here I know I'd be very apprehensive too. Best of luck and luv to your doodle!
Ivermectin does kill heartworms, read the label. You’re being over charged for your pets but can buy it for a fraction of the cost for livestock. It’s all the in the dosage amount. Most dog breeders know this and save their $$ using horse version.
But an active infection is a dangerous issue and you need to find a wholistic vet to guide you through it, regardless of what method you use.
