In the movie, she develops a crush on another female character, and fans took notice.

I used to love watching Scooby Doo as a kid. My kids enjoyed some of the shows as they were getting older. Sexuality was never a thought to us. I have fond memories of two "super heroes" who basically were an animal and water (Wonder Twins). To a kid who doesn't think that is dumb, e Velma's lusts weren't on the radar.
