I've said this for a few years. I HATE weights/repetitive shit. But I discovered bouldering (for those unaware, low climbing done without ropes*) - and that is automatic strength training - I could really tell the difference before/after.
*It is also very hard/intense climbing. V0 (on a scale of 0-15) on the bouldering scale is about 5.9 - 5.10 on the regular rope-climbing one.
I hate the repetition of it too. I just lock in and listen to music and get pissed off for an hour
I've always enjoyed lifting shit for practical purposes. Used to love moving hay bales and horse feed for my grandpa. Lifting weights still bores the shit out of me but I'm suffering through it for my health
