I believe the Phillies are in the WS for the sole reason to get the riots started. We know they are right around the corner. The zombies of Philadelphia will be more than happy to get the ball rolling. If the Phillies win - chaos. If the Phillies lose - even more chaos.

The Phillies winning a WS does seem to coincide with economic turmoil.
