When I think military I think whitehats. They have mapped out all possible outcomes and put everything in place for that one big thing that will send the entire system crumbling down. So all the micro stuff, wins or losses, are part of the process building up to that one giant event that will eventually happen. And then the entire cabal/DS will become powerless, penniless, and quickly die away, change tune, or dissipate in some form or another.
