Young MD anon here, we're not all bad. Especially us younger folk, many I've spoken to are horrified at how covid was handled, and very distrustful of the vaccines/big pharma. Many physicians I've spoken to also sought religious exemptions for the vax, and I'm in a pretty blue state.
I'm not in a position yet where I can fight the machine head on, but hopefully one day I will be. Plan on practicing holistic psychiatry, not pushing meds but emphasizing proper sleep, nutrition, exercise and meditation for mental well being. Goal is to be able to use under utilized techniques such as hypnotherapy, frequency/brainwave entrainment, and hopefully be able to treat by microdosing psilocybin and other psychedelics.
Going back to the roots: psyche = soul. Psychiatrist = soul healer. Psychedelics = soul manifesting.
We need to get people like you out of "the machine" and free to practice properly. I don't see any other choice.
That's my plan. Psychiatry is unique in that it does not have to play by the system, allowing full freedom, especially in private practice. Many medical specialties are neutered as they have to operate under a hospital, which then sets its own rules; forcing you to ultimately bow to insurance companies and pharma.
