Reading e comments in that thread, it seems India developed their own vaccines, which is why they are fighting against Pfizer. So, if I'm understanding correctly, this doesn't seem so noble in reality... They just wanted to push their own shit.

I remember a while back India wanted to carry out their own safety tests on the Pfizer jab before authorising it, Pfizer wouldn't let them. No surprises why.
