This reminds me of a conversation I had with some people about food prices and why they're so high. My response was, "I just say fuck em. I've turned food shopping into a game."
It's a combination of things. I'm fortunate that where I live, most of the stores are close to one another. I have certain items that I buy at certain stores based on prices. Sometimes sale price at one store is still more than another. I go to five different stores including Dollar (+ .25) Tree. And, a weekly farmer's market.
Another thing that has helped, is cooking and baking from scratch. I'm allergic to eggs so I started baking. I throw some kick ass music on and have fun. Food tastes better and feel better when I eat clean.
Seems like a lot of work, but it really isn't. Once I got into a routine with it and noticed that I can keep the price per bag under $10, it was like I was giving the middle finger to the evil ones. And I love that

Do you mean you just buy things on sale?
