The Greek word translated "mansions" in the kjv and "rooms" in your version is the same word translated "abode" in 14:23 and is the noun version of the verb "abide" in John 15 where it says "abide in me and I in you." He is our abode, we are in Him. And we are His abode, He abides in us. This mutual abode is the Father's house. John 14:20 says "In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you." This is wonderful!
