It's exactly why, years ago, homeowners in California voted in Proposition 13, which limited tax increases to no more than 3%/year. My own assessment in Alaska - with no changes in the property - went up $100,000 this year. Greedy much?
Yep, I'm from WA but I bought a house in SoCal during the whole Rona BS and was pleasantly surprised to learn that my property taxes can't be raised more than 2% per year. I actually paid LESS for the home than the Seller bought it for so the assessed value went down. One tiny win in CA 😎
My son just received his new property tax bill in WA state, his assessed value went up 40% since last year, FORTY PERCENT! How is that even legal?!🤬
Hardworking Americans have been financially raped for a hundred years.
