Has anyone here ever tried NAC ( N-acetylcysteine ) I want to use it on my 10 year old daughter.

She has had trapped excess mucous for over 1 year now. I don’t know what to do. My pediatrician hasn’t called me back on it yet. I bought a powder form. Apparently it’s a miracle to get rid of mucous, among other more serious, benefits ( like liver detoxification)
