What is your conclusion from this info?
I don't fully understand it. My interest is in the correlation between the ancient story and the seeming reality of an astronomical event. The Phaethon myth has the son of Apollo (Helios) poorly guiding the chariot of the sun. Zeus/Jupiter destroys it with his thunder bolt. I see the myth as a kind of allegory for the scientific event. Phaethon and the chariot stand for the planet. Both (planet and character) are destroyed. Both shower Earth with debris (if I'm understanding the document correctly.) My question is: did the Phaethon story derive from an ancient knowledge of an astronomical event? If so, how could a prehuman event be "remembered"?
How do I do that?
