My latest kick is pesticides.
If it's not organic chances 50-70% it has detected trace pesticides "within safe range" with 1-3% containing "violation" level pesticide content. There's no doubt in my mind, that the paltry testing done by the FDA is allowing folks to poison themselves.
NOP maintains a list of certified synthetic pesticides and while I haven't compared I'm sure it's more restrictive than what the usda allows by default
So maybe it has some approved synthetic pesticides, however the main goal is to use no pesticides, or the naturally occurring ones, and overall irs much safer to eat produce that's organic.
Of course, if it's actually truly organic. But tests of organic vegetables in grocery stores have shown pesticides the same as the other vegetables, indicating that in some cases there's no difference, except in price. I'm nearly 70 and haven't died yet and can't afford to spend double for a questionable product.
You are wrong about organic. I know it sucks but you need to know that organic is over. It's in the food chain. All of it. The soil, the water cycle, all mammals milk, all of it. Rachel Carson told the truth early in1960's. DDT trucks in neighborhoods may have stopped, but everything else went into overdrive.

Additionally it's April 3 2023 and the latest data we have access to is from 2020. Nice lag on that health and safety report.
Side effects of pesticides:
Gastrointestinal distress
Liver and kidney damage
Disruption of endocrine system
Behavioral changes, such as anxiety and aggression
Reduced fertility and reproductive abnormalities
Neurological symptoms, including tremors and seizures
Immune system suppression
Increased risk of cancer
Birth defects in offspring
Even organic has pesticides. You just have to pay more for it. Just wash the veggies better.

Best to throw the baby out with the bathwater
More of a caveat emptor. Still gotta eat.
