The word is only used in Revelation, 8 times.

Following each use yields some interesting spiritual conclusions.

Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.(Rev 7:3)

Spiritually happenings of the sixth seal are going on. The symbol of the earth is Adamic man, the sea is wicked Adamic man.

For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?(Rev 6:17)

The wrath is on the carnal Adamic man, it is not on the saint in training.

"till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads."

The sealing in the forhead is the mind of Christ being built in the saint in the church, in the world.

Adamic man is not being sealed, the soul of the saint is being sealed.

Adamic man who is dead in trespasses and sins already has a mark, it is the mark of the beast in his forehead.

The carnal man is marked.

And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.(Rev 9:4)

Now in the fifth trump carnal Adamic man is being worked out of the saint, carnal Adamic man does not have the seal of God. The saints are being sealed, moved to the 144,000 status, they're in the works.

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Rev 13:11-17)

The mark of the beast is in the forhead just like the sealed saints. These marks and seals are mindsets, they are old thinking and new thinking. The carnal Adamic man follows the beast, operates from the beast mindset.

And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. (Rev 14:1) 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.

The Lamb and His 144,000 are now fully sealed. They have overcome the beast mindset, now they have the Lamb mindset, this is rulership power.

Mount Zion is the mountain of the great king. The symbol is great power, rulership, and kingdom power.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (Rev 20:4)

The beheaded, they lost their Adamic head,

They did not follow the beast mindset, they are sealed and now they reign with Christ for 1000 symbolic years.
