Poll: Americans Worry Religious Institutions are ‘Abandoning' Beliefs
A majority of Americans say faith is important to their daily lives, but they worry "too many religious institutions nowadays are watering down or abandoning their traditional beliefs."
This started in the late 70s. I stopped attending church on a regular basis because of what was happening in churches and sought my own path with God. I've tried several churches and can't even believe what direction they've gone. They've become full of grifters and its is very hard to find a church with the level of community I grew up with.
I went from Evangelical to Presbyterian to Baptist to Universal to Wiccan and then just abandoned church completely. But about 5 years ago, I found Seventh Day Adventist and I have been very happy there.
They followed the words very religiously.
