To be fair, Delaware at one point had very lax and inexpensive incorporation laws. The tax benefits of incorporating in Delaware were astounding. In fact, I still have 3 corporations still incorporated in Delaware.

In 2021 they they had 1.8mm corporations listed in Delaware.
